Georgia Divorce Overview

Our Philosophy...

Litigation is often expensive, time consuming, mentally and physically draining, and usually does not yield financially sound results for either party involved. There may be some cases where litigation is necessary, but in most cases alternatives to litigation are more feesible and productive.

It is our philosophy that when related issues, such as child support, alimony, financial planning, and equitable property division, are resolved at the same time, it allows these issues to be better assessed, addressed, and resolved. When these matters are handled separately, as is the process in many family courts, the parties feel defeated. The Cherry Law Firm wants to set you and your family up for success, both mentally and financially, in a sound post-divorce relationship.

What to expect from The Cherry Law Firm?

It is our sincere goal to offer you big firm experience in a comfortable atmosphere.  You will have an expertly drafted and comprehensive  property settlement agreement allowing you to live separately and without conflict from your spouse.  We enable you to have the most prolific financial security available including providing you with a long-range plan for your financial stability.

When children are involved, these services allow you to focus your attention on the children’s best interests.  In relationships without children, it permits parties to go their own separate ways if that is their objective.  Above all, the goal is to negate the loose ends and eleviate any residual issues.

Negotiation

Negotiation is an aspect of dispute resolution that is plausible when two clients, represented by their respective attorneys, are conceivably civil, forthcoming with truthful information and are willing to make reasonable compromises. The notable advantage to negotiation is that it affords the divorcing parties great savings in time, costs, and emotional upheavel. Negotiation is often used to determine the terms of a property settlement, custody agreement, and/or support order in a contractual form.  This is entered of record as an order of the court in which the divorce complaint was filed. No litigation is necessary.
